The spacecraft group is in charge of fulfilling the complex mission of keeping one person alive for the suborbitals
space ride, and to make the ride a great experience.
The spacecraft is the one system in use during the entire flight, from ascent to descent. Therefore we need to develop
solutions that ranges from the seating system for the high acceleration burn - zero gravity - ground impact, to parachutes,
life support systems, heat shield, aerodynamics, cabin pressure control and ground communication. The list is long and very exciting.
The spacecraft group is always working towards the simplest solution to any problem. We are developing almost anything ourselves
and testing these systems on ground before the final flight.
The one major radical design driver in the spacecraft system, compared to previous known spacecrafts, is the standing position of the astronaut.
We decided to do this, to keep the diameter of the entire rocket down. Human testing verified
that such a position is indeed possible.
The first Tycho Brahe spacecraft is a boilerplate - a prototype. Flying the Tycho Brahe will give us much data to continue our work, but
we are constantly sketching on different configurations. As a result, the future spacecrafts will likely change radically from the
precious ones. After all, it is a development process.
